Music is a part of our everyday life, from rock music, to classical, to jazz. You can listen to music on CDs or go hear an orchestra play. Not only can you listen to music, you can create it. You can play well-known music, or play your own composed music. You can do whatever you want with music.

Most people today only listen to pop, rock, or rap music. They do not know about other types of music. There are four main periods of music: the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary/Modern periods. Each period sounds completely different from the next, with their own distinct traits.

In order to play this music, we use instruments. There are many different types, each type using a different way to create pitches. Some instruments need to be blown on; others are banged. Read more on the Instruments page.
