SUPER BOWL X

 

 

 

Super Bowl X was held on January 18, 1976 at Orange Bowl, Miami, Florida. Super Bowl X was one of the classic match ups in Super Bowl history. Head coach had brought his 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers to their second straight Super Bowl by beating the Oakland Raiders 16-10 in the AFC Championship. Tom Landry brought his Dallas Cowboys to their third Super Bowl appearance after beating the L.A. Rams 37-7 in the NFC

 

Terry Bradshaw and Roger Staubach. After Tom Sullivan sang the national anthem the two teams took the field. After a fumbled punt return by Pittsburgh, Roger Staubach threw a 14 yard touchdown to Drew Pearson for a Dallas touchdown to make the score 7-0. Pittsburgh came right back up the field and Terry Bradshaw threw a 7 yard pass to Randy Grossman for a Touchdown and Roy Gerela kicked the extra point to tie it up 7-7. Early in the second quarter Toni Fritsch nailed

At the beginning of the 3rd quarter Roy Gerela missed another field goal this time a 33 yarder. After reserve running back Reggie Harrison blocked a Dallas punt, which rolled out of the end zone for a two-point safety making the score 10-9 Dallas. Gerela finally connected with a 36-yard field goal to put Pittsburgh in the lead 12-10. On the next drive Steelers’ safety Mike Wagner intercepts Staubach and takes it to the

Cowboy’s 7 yard line and Gerela made a 28 yard field goal to make it 15-10 Pittsburgh. With 3:05 left in the game Terry Bradshaw hit Lynn Swann for a64 yard touchdown. Dallas came right back with a 34 yard touchdown to Percey Howard. Dallas’s defense held off
