General Sherman Tree

The General Sherman Tree is located in Sequoia National Park. It is the largest living thing on earth. It weighs approximately 2 million pounds and stands 274.9 feet tall. It is believed to be around 2,100 years old. The tree is still growing.

Old Faithful

Old Faithful's eruptions last about 1 to 4 minutes. There was an earthquake in 1998 that effected the intervals of eruptions from 78 minutes apart to 80 minutes apart. Steam and water shoot 184 feet in the air when Old Faithful erupts. Although not the largest geyser in Yellowstone, the famous geyser got its name from its punctuality and predictability.

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is over 1 million acres, 277 miles long, and up to 18 miles wide.  Temperatures vary from 18 degrees to 85 degrees depending on the season. The Grand Canyon is the most gorgeous landform I have ever seen, especially at sunset.

Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde was established in 1906 to preserve sites built by Aztec Indians on Mesa tops and in the canyon alcoves. There are 4,000 known archeological sites in Mesa Verde, 6 hundred of which are cliff dwellings.

Rocky Mountains

The peaks of the Rocky Mountains are covered in snow.  The Rockies are 60 to 70 million years old.  The mountains themselves are surrounded by Montana. They are truly beautiful.

Mohave Desert

The Mojave Desert is the smallest of the four North American deserts.  It is 33 million acres.  It is located in California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. It is vast, dry, and hot, but very pretty.
