PRS guitars were started by Paul Reed Smith.  His first guitar was for extra credit in woodshop.  With an A he decided to make guitars for a living.
His first work shop was in a haunted Annapolis garret.  There he would make one or two guitars a month.  Then he would play them at a gig to get the best sound.

To sell them he would go to concert arenas six or seven hours before the show to make friends with the roadies.  With a backstage pass he would sell guitars to artists like Carlos Santana.
Soon more orders came in so he built two prototypes.  Then he drove around the east coast advertising his guitars.  When he came back he had enough orders to start a business.
Today PRS guitars are still handmade.  They are some of the finest guitars in the world.

This is the Custom 24.  It has a 24 fret rosewood fret board with a PRS tremolo.

This guitar is the Custom 22.  It has a wide mahogany neck with bird inlays and Dragon II pickups.
The CE 22 has a one piece maple body with a five way pickup selector.  On it are Dragon pickups.

The CE 24 is just like the CE 22 but with a few differences.  This guitar has a 24 fret neck and the pickups do not have covers.
The McCarty signature is a very nice guitar.  IT also has a PRS tailpiece.  It is equipped with 2 Ted McCarty signature custom pickups.
