Case Picking a Case can be easy or hard. First of all, you need to decide if you want want to buy a case with a power supply (PS) or not. It is sometimes a gamble if you buy a case with a PS built in. Sometimes the ones that come with the cases are cheap and generic and don't last long. It is recommended that you buy a PS separately. Another Factor you have to worry about now is "form factor." Form factor is the way in which parts are made by the manufacturers make their parts so that they are standardized and work together smoothly. The most common form factor today is ATX. Most of the time you will not have to worry too much about this, since almost all parts now are becoming ATX. Just look for a mid-tower ATX form factor case and you can't go wrong.

Power Supply Picking a power supply is quite easy. Once again you must make sure its ATX form factor. The way you determine how good a PS is is the company and the watts. The best way to do it is to get a PS with 30-40 more watts than what you actually need. This makes your PC upgradeable. A 420w PS is usually fine for all PC's. But if you want the very top performance you may want to go higher. Antec and Enermax are generally the best brands. |
