This web page is on Deer. I have a lot of them around my house, we feed them corn and bread. I have focused on 4 deer species. They are the Whitetail Deer, the Marsh Deer. the Mule Deer, and the Fallow Deer. All of them have two-piece hooves. They also have two small spurs about half and in above their hooves. They are on the back of their legs. Male Deer are called bucks, the females are called doe, and the babies are called fawns. The doe nurses the fawn from udders, like a cow. The bucks are the only ones who grow antlers. | |
| There is a difference between antlers and horns. Antlers are grown by deer, caribou, elk, and moose. They are shed and re-grown every year or two. Horns, however, are grown by cows, sheep and goats. They are not shed and grow constantly the animals whole life. | ![]() |
