The manatee is a gentle and endangered creature of the sea. It glides calmly under the water with its young. The manatee fully grown can weight about 400-600 pounds. That is as much as 4-5 adults. They are calm yet f threatened can put up quite a battle. The manatee is usually found in canals or semi-shallow waters where the sun shows most brilliant.
They tend to be in sun lit places because the sun helps the vegetation to grow larger and greener.  The disadvantage of going in shallow waters it the jet boats, jet skis and other water motor vehicles. These motor vehicles are a manatee’s greatest enemy. The manatee through history has been given many names. Mermaid, for one, has been given to the manatees for their graceful glide under the water. The other names including sea cow or even sea elephant were given for their big noses and enormous size. To Florida the most common name is manatee.
The manatee is now not a very commonly thing to see unless you’re in an area like Florida’s keys. They are much shyer now days because of the decreasing population. The manatee is becoming endangered. The manatee’s are dying from many reasons, but the most common reason is the motor boats causing serious injury them.
The manatee is being critically injured by the motor boats propellers, and they are not being able to recover causing them to die, or even causing them to be too weak and become the victim of a shark or other carnivorous predator’s attack.
