The Pittsburgh Pirates Major league baseball team throughout the 70's was a baseball powerhouse. Throughout these years the pirates have produced fantastic star players such as Andy Vanslyke, Ralph Kiner, and three hall of fame super stars. These three hall of fame superstars are Willie Stargell, Honus Wagner, and Roberto Clemente. Through these years playing the game was a fun time for the three. Wagner, Stargell, and Clemente have each one a world series including the most famous in 79'. Combined, the three great sluggers and fielders hit 816 homeruns, played in 42 world series games, drove in over 3,000 runs, and stole 1,524 steals, which most came from the shortstop, Honus Wagner. Also all of the three are remembered as some of the all time greatest players in baseball history, and were all inducted to the hall of fame with over a 90% vote from the committee. |
