Ken's childhood wasn't the same compared to most kids. Ken moved around in west PA a lot before staying at Ringgold high school. His dad was a Pro baseball player so he was not home very often. But then he was home they would work on his game for hours. |

In high school, Ken shined as a Sophomore. He led his team in batting average, hits, and home runs. The future was definitely bright for him. He was named All-State as a Junior and Senior. He set records at his school that haven't been broken for years. As a Senior he was an All-American and many thought of him as the best in the country. He was picked first overall but traded to the Mariners. |

Ken has gone though many ups and downs. Coming out fresh from high school, Ken spent his first few months in the minor leagues. He was later called up and shined. And he got to do what most kids never get to do, play with his dad. A few seasons later he retired. But in 1997 Ken had a brake out year. His stats were as follows: 56 homeruns, 147 RBI's, .304 batting average, and a .646 slugging percentage. After helping the Mariners win two West Divisions titles, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. |
