Drums are the most important part of a band. They are the rhythm, the powerhouse which keeps the whole band on beat.. Drums would possibly be the most fun instrument to play, only because there are endless possibilities to build and arrange your set. There can be basic drums sets (seen below) or very complex sets (also seen below). There are possibilities to reach your physical needs. With a drum set, you can be very small and still play. With a guitar you have to grow into it, drum meet age and physical properties.
A basic drum set consists of a 22" kick drum, 14" snare, 13", 16", 18" toms, 14" hi-hats and an 18" crash/ride. Sometimes there can also be  a 16 inch crash also included. A  basic kit  can cost anywhere from $300 to $700.
This is an exaggerated example of what can be done with a kit. With this your looking anywhere from $700 to $1300. Its an investment, but drum kits never loose their value.
