History

Southern California  (USC) today has one of Division 1 college football's greatest programs. USC also has a great history throughout their program. USC joined the Pacific Coast Conference in 1922. At that time most of college football was focused upon teams of the South, Midwest, and East Coast. 

The Trojans began to win more and more games and attention soon came their way. In 1925 the team got their own stadium. In 1931 the USC team played "America's Team" Notre Dame. 
The USC team rallied late to win the game. This is when most of America started to hear about the USC Trojans. The Trojans have been a a well known team ever since. The Trojans won 9 National Championships and have 40 Bowl appearances. The team also has four Heisman trophy winners that played at USC
Player and Coaching Greats

The USC Trojans have had many great players come through their football program. There also has been some outstanding coaches at USC as well. One coach that stood out was always John Mckay. Mckay was a legend at USC and he still is. Mckay ran the I formations offense and he was known for putting a heavy workload on his runners. Mckay coached at USC for 15 years from 1960 to 1975.

In those 15 years he won 127 games and only lost 40. He reached the Rose Bowl eight times and won the National Championship four times. Some of the great players that went to USC are Marcus Allen, R Jay Soward, Keyshawn Johnson, and Junior Seau. Marcus Allen won USC it's fourth Heisman in 1981. On that year he ran for 2,342 yards and scored 23 touchdowns. Allen was also a dependable receiver coming out of the backfield.
