History
Notre Dame is one of the most well known teams in Division 1 college football History. Notre Dame has had some of the most legendary coaches and the most well known players go through their football system. Some of the well known coaches such as Lou Holtz and Gerry Faust have contributed to the highest winning percentage in College Football. |

There are many great players that went through Notre Dame. There are also some very good coaches that went to Notre Dame too. One coach is Knute Rockne. Rockne was arguably the best coach that ever coached at Notre Dame. During the 13 years he coached, his team won six national championships. |

His team went
undefeated five times. Rockne's final record as the Notre Dame coach
was105-12-5. Lou Holtz and Gerry Faust were some of the other great
coaches that went to Notre Dame. Some of the great players that went to
Notre Dame are Joe Montana, Joe Theisman and Tim Brown. Tim Brown won
the Heisman award in 1987. He has the all time leading passing reception
yards at Notre Dame (2,493). Tim Brown also returned six kickoffs for
touchdowns.
