There are many pieces of equipment that will keep you safe or help you perform your best when doing gymnastics. Chalk is a very important thing to have. It looks like flour, but it helps to keep the sweat off your hands when you're on the bars and it also helps you to not slip. Grips are also very helpful. You slip them over your palms and between your fingers. They help you to go around the bar faster and more smoothly. With grips you also don't have to worry about getting blisters or rips.Safety/ landing mats are also very important when doing beam, vault, and bars. It is basically just a big foam mat that you dismount on, or land on after doing a trick. When doing gymnastics you also want to be wearing a leotard or tight clothes, you also want to have your hair pulled back for safety reasons. You can't be accurate with your hair hanging in your face. If you do happen to get hurt while practicing gymnastics you could get a wrap or a brace so that you don't injure yourself even more. So when doing gymnastics remember to stay safe with the right equipment.
