The
super bowl is the biggest game in all of sports. It is the most
broadcasted sporting game on TV. The last games of the playoffs are the
Conference Championship games. The two winners who have been fighting
their way ever since day one in training camp then get to go to the super
bowl.
Back when all the teams were in training camp the city and stadium picked in which the super bowl game would be played at. This 2004 year for example the game is being played in Jacksonville, Florida. Even though the game does sound like so much fun you cannot just go to the game in hope of buying a ticket at the gate. Along with the stadium the tickets are sold and bought way in advance. The people who buy the tickets do not even know who will be in the game when they buy the expensive tickets. Fan wise only about 200 people go to the game to cheer on their home team. The other 70,000 people go to the game for the overall unforgettable event. First fan come to the game real early and tailgate. The tailgates start the night before for real big fans. The game starts off with the National Anthem. It is sung by a celebrity from TV or movies. The first half is then played. At halftime though there is a concert/performance on a stage by several bands and singers. The game is then completed and most fans run on the field. The winning team the comes to midfield for a ceremony and are awarded the Vince Lombardi super bowl trophy along with separate super bowl rings. Meanwhile the years greatest commercials are being played on TV. The commercials are played throughout the whole game. Half the viewers of the super bowl watch the game just for the commercials. They also tune back just for the performances. There is a down fall to going to the game. Ticket prices range from $400 to $2000. So its is quite the experience to go to a super bowl in this day in age. |
