These few types are examples of the guitar label Fender. Fender was discovered in 1946. Fenders have been an American icon for over 50 years. The most famous and well recognized Fender type is the Stratocaster and the Telecaster. Fender's originated in California. Fender not only makes guitars, but they make basses and amps as well. Fenders are used by almost every artist A few artists include Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Santana, members of Anthrax and others.  
This is an example of a  1970 version of the Fender Telecaster. It was made to play alternative music.

i  Ibanez guitars were founded in 1932. The Ibanez took 4 decades to become famous and well known. They didn't become famous until the early 80's. They were used by many rock artists such as K.I.S.S and Motley Crue. They also make basses and amps. They are well known for their famous Destroyer and Iceman. The example to the left is an Ibanez Universe.   
This is an example of a 1990 Ibanez Destroyer. It was used by Paul Stanley to play hard rock on it.  
Gibson guitars were introduced to the United States in 1935. Gibson's are truly amazing guitars. They were originally made for jazz music. Then they eventually became used for Rock music too. They because famous from Charlie Christian. Gibson is well known for their famous Les Paul.

Epiphones were brought into the United States in the 1950's. They were made by Turkish immigrant Epi Stathopoula. Epiphones were favored by the popular 60's band The Beatles. This is called the Epiphone Sheraton.  
Hofners were introduced in 1948. They were used for rock music. They were created and designed by Fred Wilfer. They were the first guitars made in Germany. They were played the most by famous musician Paul McCartney.
