Hawaii's capitol is Honolulu and is 6,450 square miles big.  It has 1,039,000 people.  All the islands were created thousands of years ago, Hawaii's really made up of 122 islands.  The main eight are: Hawaii, Maui, Kahoolawe, Molokai, Lanai, Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau.

People aren't aloud to live on Kahoolalwe.  The islands were all created by Volcanoes.  The beach sands can be white, gold, black, salt and pepper, green, or garnet.  Haleakala is the highest point in all the islands.  There are only 12 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet: A,E,I,O,U,H,K,L,M,N,P,W.

Maui is called the valley island because it's between 2 volcanoes.  It has large sugar cane and pineapple fields.  The seven sacred pools are waterfalls that flow into each other.  Haleakala is the biggest volcano, rising 10,000 feet above sea level, it's landscape looks like the moon's.

Molokini is an old volcano that one of the sides (over time) disintegrated and fell off and now is a very popular dive and snorkel spot.  It gets up to 75 degrees to 85 degrees Fahrenheit  all the time in the Hawaiian islands.

Hawaii is called the big island because it's the biggest out of all the Hawaiian islands.  Kilauea is still activly flowing.  Hawaii was created by five volcanoes: Kohala, Haualala, Mouha Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kilauea.

Oahu has Hanauma Bay, it's great for snorkeling there, it's a big coral reef and is home to loads of tropical fish.  Pali lookout was the site of King Kamehameha led his warriors to drive their enemies off of the cliff.  Diamond head is over 100,000 years old.

Molokai is called the friendly islands because its people welcome visistors so warmly.  Kahoolawe is the smallest of the eight islands and it's very dry and windswept, not what you would have expected for a hawaiian island.
