Lacrosse is the oldest sport in North America. Centuries ago native Indians played this sport but they did not call it lacrosse. they call it baggataway. The games that they had only had a few players on each team and the stick looked like a bishops staff or a Crosse. |
| Boys field lacrosse is the oldest version of modern lacrosse. Each game lasts four quarters. Each quarter last from twelve of fifteen minutes. Boys field lacrosse only have two or three officials. if a player breaks a rule he commits a foul and gets a penalty. there are two types of penalties a personal and a technicalities. A personal includes tripping or slashing. if you commit a personal foul you sit out for one minute. A technical foul includes hitting from being or holding and will result in a thirty second penalty. |

| In girls lacrosse there are two thirty minute halves and games are supervised by a single umpire. When the ump blows the whistle all players must stop except for the goalie. girls lacrosse have two types of penalties which are major fouls and minor fouls. Major fouls include slashing charging and pushing an opponent. minor fouls include moving the ball with your body and checking an opponenents stick when they do not have the ball. |
