Over hand sever is a very powerful serve. It puts the opponents under  so much pressure. You stand facing the net with one foot slightly in front of the other . Then  throw that ball up, bring your hand behind your shoulder then swing powerfully and contact the ball with a firm hand .
Jump severing is an over hand sever where the person serving jumps up to hit or strike the ball overhead when it is airborne.

A dig is  when you receiving the ball from a an attack or a service. what you want to do is to let the ball bounce neatly on your forearms so it travels high and curves so the setter can set it to the spikier.
Setting is when you play the ball over your head . It is normally used to set up a spike but they all so can send it all the way to the back court on the opposite side of the net.

spiking is the most powerful thing beside the over hand severs. You want to smash  the ball hard on the opposite side of the net.  You have to start behind the 10 ft line on the court for it to count for a point.
Blocking is when you jump up to block the other teams spike , or set to the back court. This is played up at the net and any one at the net can do this skill.

Dives are used to save a very difficult ball.  Its used when the ball is out of range of a dig and a normal forearm pass. It involves diving for the volleyball to save it from hitting the ground.
