History The Bichon Frise was originally founded in Europe. The breed wasn't really popular or known around the countries. That was until Francis I came along. Francis I saw the Bichon as an enchanted breed. He loved everything about them. He owned many, and because of him the Bichon hit their first time period of popularity. After Francis I lost reign, the Bichon Frise lost popularity. So again, the Bichon was just an ordinary breed. Henry III came into reign and saw the same thing that Francis I did. He loved everything about the wonderful dogs. He boosted their popularity. He boosted their popularity so much that eventually the breed spread to many more countries including the United States. |

Since the Bichon Frise is white, it is possible for them to become dirtier more easily. You should personally wash your dog every month, but time range does vary depending on how dirty your dog gets. You should get your Bichon professionally cut every 2-3 months. There are two kinds of cuts you can get for your Bichon. One if called a "puppy cut." This makes your dog's hair short and curly, just as if they were a puppy. The other cut is called a "show cut." This is bring out the fullness in your Bichon's hair. It will be very fluffy and straight. When a Bichon is in a dog show, this is the kind of cut they would have. |
