Lacrosse is a contact sport with 10 people on the field at one time. The objective of the game is to shoot the ball in the opponents net. Collegiate games are 60minutes long, with 15 minute quarters. High school games are 48 minutes long with eight-minute quarters. There are four quarters in a game and 1 halftime. The teams change sides between periods. Each team has 2 time-outs each half. Men's lacrosse games begin with a face-off. The ball is placed between the sticks of two squatting players at the center of the field. When the whistle blows, each team tries to control the ball. Face0offs occur after goals are scored, and and the beginning of each period. No one can touch the ball with their hand, besides the goalie. Body checking is allowed if the opponent has the ball or is within 5 yards of a loose ball or ball
