The Denver Broncos have had some great players over their history, but three players are head and shoulders above the rest in my mind. They are John Elway, Terrell Davis, and Shannon Sharpe. |

John Elway is a true athlete. He played running back growing up in high school. He went to Stanford from a scholarship in baseball and football. There he started playing quarterback. He was originally drafted by the by the Baltimore Colts in 1983, but he didn't want to play there. He threatened he would go and play baseball for the Yankees if they didn't trade him. They eventually traded him to the Broncos before the start of the 1983 season. John played for sixteen years, 234 games, and led the Broncos to five Super Bowls. He entered into the Football Hall of Fame in 2004 after setting or breaking more than fifty records. |

Terrell Davis grew up in San Diego. His father was drunk all the time, but his mother was always there for him. In fact, Davis took his mom to his high school prom. Terrell Davis went to Georgia for college. He was hampered with injuries all through college and no matter haw hard he tried he couldn't make a name for himself. In the 1995, draft Terrell Davis was drafted in the sixth round by Denver. What a pick! He was the piece John Elway needed was missing to the puzzle. John and Terrell lead the Broncos to back to back championships. In 1998, Davis also became the fifth player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a season. Unfortunately, his career was cut short when a linemen landed on his knee and tore his ACL. Terrell Davis left his mark on the game with multiple records. |

Shannon Sharpe was born on June 26th, 1968. He's a big, strong tight end. He attended Savanna State for college. He had eighteen touchdowns in his senior year there. Shannon was drafted in the seventh round by Denver. Amazingly, Sharpe has broken nearly every tight end record. He averages more than four catches per game and has 814 in his professional career (as of April 04'). He has been an important ingredient to the Broncos success over the years. |
