Waikiki Beach may be the most famous stretch of sand in the world.  It attracts over 4 million visitors a year.  The water there is perfect for canoeing, paddle boating, snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, and boogie boarding.  If you are hungry, food is available.  Order ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, and mai tais.
Sunset Beach is a two mile stretch of sand, part of the North Shore.  Sunset Beach is subdivided into several different beaches: Pupukea, Banzai Pipeline, Back Doors, Off-the-Wall, Log Cabins, Cloud Break, and Pete's Followers.  This beach is a great spot for surfers with its 15 foot high waves.  This height is too high for safe swimming, so it is best to stay out of the water.
The Banzai Pipeline is home to the best surf.  This beach is located 60 minutes from Waikiki.  The beautiful wide stretches of sand on this beach are good for walking.  The water is perfect for surfing.  The Banzai Pipeline is also called Ehukai Beach.
The North Shore has the best waves on the whole island of Oahu for surfing.  It is made up of Ehukai Beach (Banzai Pipeline), Sunset Beach, and Waimea Beach.
