Oahu's beaches aren't the only things that make the island a true paradise.  The island of Oahu also offers many activities for visitors and natives as well.

 

Parasailing is a rather popular activity on Oahu.  You fly in the air on a parachute attached to a boat.  You can fly up to 500 feet in the air for eight to ten minutes.  You can parasail solo or with other people.  However, if you want to fly solo, you must weigh at least 180 pounds.  You must be at least five years old to fly at all.
   

Snorkeling may be the most popular activity in Hawai'i because the Pacific Ocean holds millions of fish.  Hanauma Bay and Shark's Cove are two popular snorkeling spots.  You can rent, buy, or bring snorkeling gear.

 

Oahu has beautiful scenery, perfect for walking, and hiking.  Oahu has 3 mountains, and several hiking trails.  Diamondhead State Park is perhaps the most popular hiking trail, with it's 2 stair cases, 175 steps, and a long, dark tunnel.  Some other hiking trails are Hauula Loop, Kaena Point, Makapuu Lighthouse, Manoa Cliffs Trail, Manoa Falls Trail, and Maunawili Demon. Trail.  These trails vary from .8 miles to 11 miles long.

 

Oahu is the surfing capital of the world.  The North Shore is the best place for surfing.  It is the ideal destination for professional surfing.  It hosts the International Winter Surfing Championships.  Anyone can learn how to surf.  Surfing is a popular native sport in Oahu.  At least 70% of natives can surf.
