Descriptions

This picture shows Solid Snake, the main character of all the Metal Gear Solid games, crouched down in the grass to avoid being seen by the enemy guard. Camouflage is a completely new concept in Metal Gear Solid 3 and it is essential to survive.

This picture shows Snake hanging from a tree branch whilst aiming at an enemy guard with a pistol. While hanging from a branch, you can either shoot or you can drop down onto the guard, breaking his neck.
In this screenshot, Solid Snake is wearing a fire camouflage pattern in tall green grass, which is a very bad idea. Snake can be seen very easily while wearing this camouflage pattern in green grass. The enemy guard is aiming at Snake and will begin shooting, so Snake must run away if he wants to stay alive.

In this picture, Solid Snake is wearing a crocodiles' head on his head to make enemies think it is real and they will run away, giving Snake an opportunity to complete his objective while the guard(s) are away.
This picture is zoomed in on Snake's head, which shows the level of detail in the character model's face. The graphics are some of the best ever seen on a PlayStation 2 game.

In this screen, Snake is "stalking" an enemy, which means he is sneaking behind an enemy very slowly. This is good for not being detecting, but makes Snake's stamina deplete faster, which means he will have to get it back by eating food, such as mushrooms or snakes. When Snake is behind the enemy, he can grab him and break his neck or slit his throat.
In this screenshot, Solid Snake is holding up a guard by going behind him, pointing his pistol at him, and telling him to "freeze". This is very useful for getting intel and/or dog tags from the guard. Dog tags let you get extra bonuses at the end of the game, depending on how many of them you get.
