The Companion Dog Differing coat lengths separate the two varieties pf this tine, courageous dog. The smooth-coated form had a short, glossy coat, while the long-haired form has a significantly longer, slightly wavy coat. The long-haired form is the result of crossings of Smooth-coated Chihuahuas with Yorkshire Terriers and Papillions. Selective breeding has since taken place to ensure that in all other respects the two forms are indistinguishable. Origin: Mexico - 1800's |
