General Information:

Midtown Madness is the first Midtown Madness game of the series. This game is only on computer. The game has two difficulty levels. They are Amateur and Professional. Amateur is easier than professional but you cannot unlock the best car which is the Panoz GTR-1. Professional mode is harder to beat but you can get the Panoz GTR-1. To unlock cars you must accumulate points. The game has 10 default pre-made cars and one default pre-made city. The city is Chicago. The cars include the Volkswagen New Beetle,  a bus, a Cadillac Elder ado, Ford Mustang Police Cruiser, Ford F-350, Ford Mustang GT, Ford Mustang Fastback, Panoz Roadster, Panoz GTR-1, and a Freightliner Century. This game has ambient traffic that stops at lights and stops signs, has working turn signals, and realistic tuning. This game allows for user made content to be placed in the game. User made content mostly consists of cars and tracks. There is a lot of content available for download. This game can be played online on Game Spy or the Microsoft Gaming Zone. The number of player is 2 - 8 people. This game has 4 racing modes. The racing modes are Cruise, Blitz Race, Checkpoint Race, and a Circuit Racing Mode.

  • A Multimedia PC with a 200 or 166 Mega Hertz processor  with a 3D Accelerator.

  • Microsoft Windows 95, 98, or 2000 operating system.

  • 16 MB of ram for Windows 95 and 98. 32 MB are recommended. 32 MB required for Windows 2000

  • 300 MB of available hard disk space.

  • Double Speed CD-ROM drive, Quad Speed CD-ROM Drive recommended.

  • Super VGA 16 - Bit color monitor.

  • Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
