This is a basic 240 volt 30 amp plug. These are mostly used on electric ranges and 240 volt dryers. The highest amp breaker you would want to use these type of plug for is a 50 amp the lowest is a 30 amp. 

 

This is a 240 volt duplex outlet. The slots on the left side indicating that it is 240 volt duplex receptacle. 

This is also a 240 volt plug. But this is a single receptacle. One side of the slots are horizontal indicating that it is 240 volt. Or it will be printed on it.  
This is a 15 amp 125 volt single receptacle. This means that there is only one spot to plug something into. 

This plug is a 125/240 volt split receptacle. This means that it can have a 240 volt plug in the top and a 125 volt plug in the bottom.

 

This is a standard toggle switch. You can flip up and down.

This is a key switch. What it means by key switch is that you need it to turn the power on and off. 

This is also a standard toggle switch. But the difference between the two is that it has a light inside the switch to tell you when the power is on or off. 

This is a surged suppressed switch. It has a surge protector built in it.
