Here are a few things that I feel are important to know when getting started. The most important thing to have is a mask. In fact, it is recommended to invest in a good mask before even buying a gun! But in most cases, someone just starting would buy a gun package which includes a gun, hopper, mask, co2 and a barrel bag or plug. The hopper holds the paintballs and feeds them into the gun. There are many different types of hoppers, some are electric, and some are not. The one that will most likely come with your gun is a non-electric one. The electric ones are used for guns with high rates of fire so that the gun always has a paintball to shoot. The mask obviously protects your face from incoming balls. It is also important to know that when buying a mask never sacrifice safety and comfort over looks. CO2 is what the gun runs on and is used to propel the balls from the gun. Then the barrel bag/stopper prevents balls from being shot from the gun in the staging area. Now that you know this you are ready to hit the course and begin your paint ball journey.
