Fun Facts

The legend that is commonly told in Wales as of the origin of the corgi, is as follows:

One day, when Mab, Queen of the Faeries was bored, and so called upon her faery dogs; short, red dogs, that had a foxy look to them, and saddles on their backs. She and her faery court mounted and set off into the night. But, one of the dogs and his rider brushed up against a iron trap set out by hunters, a deadly metal to faeries.. All the faeries crowded around, not too close, though. A young boy and his sister came by, and offered to free the faery and dog of the trap. Once free, the dog and faery were healed by the sister. Mab clapped her hands and two puppies like the faery steeds appeared, as rewards. Now, every Midsummer's Eve, the faeries return to ride all the corgis so they never forget where they came from.
