Another example of a reptile is a turtle.  There are over 244 species of turtle-like animals. Nearly 200 species live around water.  A turtles is actually attached to the turtles ribs.  Turtles that live underwater actually take in oxygen through their skin.

Habitat: Rivers, lakes, Swamps, and on land.

Diet: Insects, crustaceans, fish, mollusks, and plants.

Longest Turtle:4 and a half feet long.

Heaviest Turtle:1903 pounds.

Color: Brown, Gray, and they may have bright markings.

Most turtles just sit around all day laying in the sun with there legs spread out.  This helps keep them warm and helps their digestion.  Most turtles also stay in small groups away from other turtles.
Another type of turtles are tortoises.  Tortoises can be found on every continent except for Australia, and Antarctica.  The most obvious feature of a tortoises body are their shells.  It's so hard that it's practically like armor.  They can only move at a speed of one third of a MPH
A tortoises diet consists mostly of plants, Probably because they're to slow to catch anything that moves.  Tortoises have a very long life span.  They can live to be well over 100 years oldand mabye even 200 years old.  The longest known living turtle was somewhere between 152 to181years old.
