STEELERS

 

NEW STADIUM: The new Pittsburgh Steelers stadium is called Heinz Field. It was Built in 2000. The reason for building a new stadium is more seats and wanted a grass field. In three rivers the Pirates and Steelers shared the same field, but now they have their own separate fields. The Pirates have PNC Park and the Steelers with Heinz Field. 
The picture to the left is of Franco Harris, who is one of the most famous players of his time and is still today. He played for the Steelers all the four times they won their super bowls during the 1970's. He's most famous for his play against the Oakland Raiders at Three Rivers Stadium where he caught the reception with one second left to win the AFC championship game.
The picture to the right is of Mike Webster who played center for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in Pittsburgh when they won all four super bowls in the 70's. He is one of the best center of all time. He was drafted by the Steelers in the late 60's. He was a main force inside for the Steelers and was probably the greatest center ever in Steeler history. 
The picture to the left is of Joe Greene who is also know as "Mean Joe Greene". He was part of the steel curtain who won all 4 super bowls with the Steelers. He played defensive tackle and was a fan favorite in Pittsburgh. He played at North Texas University. He got picked in 1969 by the Steelers. Today, he is a scout coach for the Steelers and was inducted in the NFL hall of fame. 
The picture to your right is of Jack Ham who played outside linebacker and wore the famous number 59 for the Steelers. He was part of the steel curtain defense in the 70's. He is one of the most famous outside linebackers because of his skill on the football field. He played with Jack Lambert, and they are considered to be the best linebacker tandem ever to play in the NFL. 
The picture at the left is of Terry Bradshaw who played quarterback for the Steelers his whole life. He was the first pick overall in the 1970, he was drafted by the Steelers. Terry Bradshaw played quarterback in all four super bowls the Steelers won in the 70's. His most famous play is the throw with a couple seconds left in the AFC championship game against the Oakland Raiders to Franco Harris.
Bill Cowher is one of the most intimidating coachs in the NFL with his face expressions. Art Rooney II hired Bill Cowher in 1990. Bill was replacing a very famous coach in Chuck Noll who had won all the Steelers previous super bowls. Bill Cowher is still the Steelers after 13 years here. Some of his accomplishments are when he took the Steelers in 1995 to the super bowl against Dallas Cowboys but came up short of a ring. He went to two AFC championship games (1994,2002).
