Sandcastle water park is located along the shores of the Monongahela River, just a short drive from the Waterfront and downtown Pittsburgh. Sandcastle property was the U.S. Steel Homestead Works. The park opened in July of 1989. Sandcastle is Pittsburgh's wildest summer playground. |

The Blue Tubaluba is the newest attraction at Sandcastle. This ride is total darkness for four hundred fifty feet. At the end of the ride, the riders enter a four foot depth of a pool. This ride is Sandcastle's first dual rider, enclosed slide. | |
| The Mon Tsunami, a Japanese tidal wave, is a twenty thousand square foot wave pool. The deepest part of the pool is six feet. At certain intervals, the pool generates ocean like waves crisscrossing across the pool. |

The Thunder Run is a three slide water ride. While twisting and turning, the rider lands in a four foot pool at the end of the ride. Tubers Tower is very similar to this ride. It is a ride that contains only two tube slides, and it begins from a forty six foot platform. |

The Boardwalk Blasters are two shotgun slides. They are twenty-five feet long and have a surprise ending. The slide ends into a twelve foot depth pond. |

The Cliffhangers are a pair of slides that have "sky ponds." These are pools of water in different sections of the ride. The tower is forty-eight feet high and it gradually descends lower to the ground. |

The Lightning Express are two identical slides that are designed for speed, also known as "body slides". These body slides are sixty feet high. "The Monster" is a giant, two hundred fifty feet long body slide that is in between the two other body slides. |

Wet Willie's Water Works and the Tad Pool area are designated for youngsters. The Lazy River is a relaxing ride. It is a quarter mile of floating on tubes. The last attraction is the Formula 1 Speedway which is a go-kart ride. |
