Playing by the rules:
- Hooking: using your stick to hold back another players arms,
stick, or body.
- High-Sticking: Hitting someone above the waist with your
stick, or touching the puck with your stick if the puck is more than 4
feet above the ice.
- Slashing: Swinging your stick at an opponent.

- Tripping: using a stick, leg, or skate to cause another
player to fall.
- Interfering: Holding or blocking the path of another player
who doesn't have the puck.
- Delay of Game: Occurs when a player other than a goaltender deliberately
freezes the puck with his or her hands or body, or throws or shoots it
out of the rink to stop play.

- Checking from behind: Body checking an opponent from behind.
- Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Swearing, gesturing or doing
anything inappropriate in athletic compitition.
- Spearing: Jabbing another skater with the point of the stick
blade.
- Fighting: Punching or hitting an opponent. This results in
the players having to leave the game.
