The objective on
offense is to score. There are different amount of points that you can
score on offense at one time. The highest amount is three points, but
there are exceptions on how you can score higher than three. |
| On offense there are
five positions. All of them are important to the offense. The positions
are point-guard (pg), shooting-guard (sg), shooting-forward (sf),
power-forward (pf), and center (c). |

|
While on offense
players shoot, pass, dribble, and rebound, but at all time each player is
moving even if they don't have the ball. |
| When you have the
ball there are three things you can do with it: shoot, pass, or dribble.
This is called a triple threat position. |

|
|

|
When you receive a
pass, be on the balls of your feet, catch the ball in both hands, and
square up to the basket. Now you're in a triple threat position. |
| Most basketball teams
gave set plays to score on offense, but there is one play that almost all
teams use which is the pick and roll. |
 |
|

|
A pick is when
someone stands in the way of a teammate's defender, so his/her teammate
can get free. After freeing his/her teammate with the pick, he\she rolls
of the defender towards the basket. |
| While your team is on
offense your team should be patient with the ball. They should try to work
the ball to each teammate on the court before someone takes a shot. |
