George Harrison was born in Liverpool, England on February 1943. George played lead guitar for the group and sang and wrote songs. His earlier hits included "While my Guitar Gentle Weeps", "Something" and "Here Come the Sun".
Unfortunately, the genius of Lennon and McCartney's song writing ability eclipsed him. George was one of the first rock musicians to use Indian instruments in his songs. The Beatles broke up, and Harrison went on to enjoy solo success. His first album "All Thing Must Pass" was a critical as well as a commercial success.
In 1971, Harrison put together two benefit concerts for famine relief efforts in Bangladesh. Harrison continued to enjoy hit songs through the 70's and 80's, such as "Give me Love", "Got My Mind Set on You", and "All Those Years".
In 1988 he joined the super rock group called "The Traveling Wilbury's". Whose member included Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison. Harrison also owned his own record label and film production company. George Harrison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, three after his death in November 2001. He will be remembered not only as one of the "Fab Four", but as one of the greatest guitarist of our time.
