offensive players try to score and the goalie has to stop the shoot that offense shoot.
	Goalies are often called keep  and keeper the guard the net which is six feet long six feet back and 6 feet high.
The goalie is probably the hardest position to play. It is so hard because you never no were the ball is going to come from so you have to have very good reflexes. some time the ball bounces off the ground and makes and unexpected bounce .
	the equipment of a goalie is different than any other player. the have the same helmet except the put on a neck guard and instead of shoulder pads and elbow pads they just have a chest protector. The still wear the same gloves though. some goalies wear shin guards but most of them do not wear them.
offensive players have a shorter shaft and defense has a longer shaft but the goalies have a shaft right in the middle. Goalies also have a different head. there head is much bigger and more circular.
	goalies also can not be afraid of the ball. if they are afraid of the ball they will never save it. the ball is a round pure rubber ball is different colors mostly white for the games. the speed of the ball varies for what age group you play in in pro lacrosse the all can be throw at speeds of 100 miles per hour.
