Kurt Donald Cobain was born to Wendy and Donald Cobain on February 20, 1967 in a small town outside of Seattle, Washington called Aberdeen. He was a happy kid until 1975 when his parents got a divorce. After that point he claimed that he never felt loved or as if he belonged again. He received his first guitar at the age of 14 from his uncle. he immediately fell in love with the instrument, it was a way for him to escape his problems. He became too much for his mom after a few years so she kicked him out. He moved back and forth between friends and occasionally when he could guilt them, his parents.

In 1986 Kurt's friend Buzz Osbourne ( The Melvins) introduced him to Chris Novoselic. The two hit it off they began playing together in a band called "Skid Row" with drummer Aaron Burkhard. The band broke up and Chris and Kurt created Nirvana. At one of Nirvana's shows the lead singer of Hole (Courtney Love) went over to talk to Kurt. They began hanging out all the time, Kurt even moved in with her. The two began doing drugs such as marijuana and heroin. Kurt did heroin to escape his terrible stomach pains caused by his scoliosis, at the time no doctor could figure out what was causing the pains and he would sometimes pass out because the pain was so bad, so he took things into his own hands. Courtney later found out that she was pregnant with Kurt's child. Kurt asked her to marry him and the two wed in Waikiki, Hawaii. Courtney gave birth to a healthy baby girl, named Frances Bean Cobain. Frances was named after a member of Kurt's favorite band (The Melvins) and she got her middle name Bean because that's what Kurt thought she looked like in the sonogram. At this time Kurt just wanted to take some time off and be with his family, but the press wouldn't have that. It was all becoming too much to handle.

 

On April 8, 1994 an electrician found Kurt dead in his Seattle home. An apparent suicide. He had supposedly taken a highly lethal does of heroin and then shot himself  with a shotgun. Many believe this was not a suicide but a murder due to the lack of fingerprints on the gun, and the amount of heroin in his blood would not allow him to pick up a gun and fire it. But one thing is for sure, Kurt Cobain impacted the music industry in such a way that none will ever match him.
