1. Vijay Singh

Singh became a professional golfer in 1982, but joined the PGA TOUR in 1993.  Vijay Singh is now the top money-maker on the PGA TOUR.  He currently has a little less than 2 million dollars, putting him on top of the money board.  He worked his way to the top by finishing in the top ten in 4 events.  He finished 1st in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am,  2nd in the Mercedes Championship, tied for third in the FBR Open, and tied for 10th at the Sony Open in Hawaii.  

Vijay Singh is among the TOUR leaders in birdies and eagles, which have helped him to his success this year.  Singh has finished in the top ten in 12 consecutive events, (dating back to last season) two shy of the record for most top ten finishes in a row.  Singh has won at least one event in 3 consecutive years, and has won at least one event in six out of the last seven years.

 

2. Phil Mickelson

Although Phil Mickelson has never won a major event on the PGA TOUR, such as the Masters, he often finishes high in the major events and wins minor events.  So far this year he has only won the Bob Hope Classic.  He has won the first event he has appeared in for the fifth time in his career.  He finished third at the FBR Open, his third top 3 finish at this event since 1998.

Phil Mickelson is now second on the money list with $1,512,100.  He got his 3rd consecutive top ten finish this year when he finished  3rd at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

 

3. Jonathon Kaye

Right now, Jonathon Kaye is 3rd on the money list with $1,321,470.  He finished 4th in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, and 1st in the FBR Open.  His best round this year was 65 at the Bob Hope Chrysler.  Jon Kaye turned pro in 1993 and joined the tour in 1995.  He is in the top ten in birdies which has helped him in his success.  

 

4. Stuart Appleby

Stuart Appleby is currentley 4th on the money list with $1,078,720.  He won the Mercedes Championship beating Vijay Sinch by one stroke.  He won his 5th PGA tour event by winning the Mercedes Campionship, becoming the 3rd international player to win the tours opening event .
