Adam Foote is a right-handed heavy weight defenseman. When you look at his stats you think "Oh, well he doesn't contribute much." If you say that you are absolutely WRONG! His bone-crunching hits and brute strength make it easy for the goalie. Now that is cotributing.

Rob Blake is a defensive brick wall as well as an offensive threat. He will poke check the puck away from you and be heading the other way so fast, that before you can turn around he will have scored. You don't want to fight with him, either. He has gorilla-like hands that will throw you down in a second.

Scott Stevens

Scott Stevens is like an untamed animal when he is on the ice. He has probably given more people concussions than Mario Lemieux has scored goals. Stay clear of him or you'll pay. With a +/- of 40 his line lets up very few goals but scores many.

Nicklas Lidstrom is a great defenseman who uses positioning to his advantage. You think you have an easy goal until out of nowhere comes Lidstrom to poke check the puck away from you or blindside you into the boards. Don't think he isn't an offensive threat. He has a blistering slap-shot that goes by goalies before you can say goal.

Brian Leetch

Sometimes I think Brian Leetch is more of an offensive player than a defensive player. Then I see him crunch someone into the boards with such force that I think he'll go right through the glass. You never know what Leetch will do with then puck until it is behind your goalie.
