Bono is the lead singer of U2. He also writes some of the songs.  Bono was born on May 10, 1960 in Dublin, Ireland.   Bono's real name is Paul Hewson.  He was nicknamed Bono by one of his childhood friends because Bono Vox means good voice in Latin.
Bono's mother died when he was young.  His mother's death inspired some of the songs he has written in the past.  His father also recently died.  He now dedicates a lot of the songs to his father at their concerts.
Before Bono was born, his mother went to a fortune teller and was told that one of her sons would be very famous someday.

Bono has two German Shepard's named Fanny and Angel.

Bono once said, "We're lucky.  What we do for a living happens to be absolutely the top of the pyramid of experiences.  We all aspire the condition of music because it is the language of the spirit.  I don't know of any other experience like it... other than being  in love, because music is a force of love.  Even when music is angry, if it's ringing true, then it's a force of love.  If somebody is coughing up their real experiences in order to make sense of them, then that's an amazing thing.
