"Terry Pratchett was born in 1948 and is still not dead. ...Occasionally he gets accused of literature."
-The Hogfather
| Terry Pratchett was born
April 28, 1948 in Buckinhamshire, England. He finished school in
1965 and gained employment as a journalist for Bucks Free Press. In
1987 he finally realized that he made more money from his occasional writings, and
quit his job. This let him write more often, and he writes about two
books per year. It's been estimated that 1% of all fiction books
sold in Britian are Pratchett's. He has become popular in both
Britian and the U.S., and has been given the nickname 'PTerry' by some fans.
Terry Pratchett has written over thirty Discworld books. He currently lives in Wiltshire, England with his wife Lyn and his daughter Rhianna. |
Fact on the Book: The country of Djelibeybi was taken from the British candy 'Jelly Babies' that went out of production. |

Fact on the Book: Jingo, a personal favorite of mine. Jingo is an actual word, believe it or not. |
