Chicago takes place in the 1920s when fame was all anyone wanted including Roxie Heart. She met a furniture sales man that goes by the name of Fred Casely. He tells her he can get her an act. One night he tells her he lied and Roxie murders him. Her husband Amis takes the blame when she tells him Fred was a burglar until he finds out that he wasn't and that she was cheating on him. her sister, and momma, who is the the martin of the women in the prison. There is a battle for fame between Velma and Roxie. Momma informs Roxie about a very famous lawyer who has never lost a case for a female client. Roxie pays for the lawyer, Billy Flinn. Fame came over Roxie. She was known as the sweetest little jazz killer. Billy switches the story around to gain sympathy from the judge and the people of the jury. Roxie is found innocent along with Velma. The two girls settle their differences in the end and perform a number. |
