Pete Townshend

Lead guitarist and Back-Up vocals
Pete Townshend was born during World War II in a convent out side of West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth, England. Born on May 19, 1945, he was one destine to become a musician with parents that played for the RAF (Royal Air Force) orchestra.
While Pete was a student in Berrymore Junior school, Pete sang in the choir. Later, his aunt encouraged him to play the piano, but that plan was soon to fall though after Pete was introduced to Rock and Roll.
On July 28, Pete's dad, Cliff took Pete and his friend Grahm, "tippy" Beard, to a, "Rock Around the Cock" preview at the Gaity theatre in Douglas. "Rock around the Clock did it for me," said Pete.
After a brief period of time trying to play the saxophone, Pete decided that a guitar is what he wanted. This decision proved to be life changing for him.
A long successful, career as one of the worlds most famous guitarists was what awaited Pete. He also wrote many of the The Who's songs and proved to be a good backup vocalist, too.
After retiring, Pete was arrested on the charges of child molestation. He is one of two, original band members still alive today.
