The lacrosse stick is the most important piece of equipment. It  was originally made of wood, but now is made with a plastic head and aluminum handles.
Another important piece of equipment is the lacrosse ball. It is made of a ball of cement covered in a two inch thick layer of rubber.

The most important piece of protective equipment is the helmet. It is made of a plastic shell with padding inside, and a facemask out in front.
Also important are the shoulder pads. These are made with plastic over the shoulders and a softer padding over the chest.

These are elbow pads, the protect your upper arms from getting hurt when you get stick checked. They are made of soft padding with a small plastic cup over the elbows.
Also important are gloves. They are used to protect your hands from being smacked and beaten during play.

For goalies, this piece of equipment is essential. This is a chest protector that goalies wear over their chest and stomach. It is made of mostly plastic.
What you see being worn over the goalie's neck is a throat guard. Only goalies wear these, it is a piece of plastic that connects to a goalie's facemask.
