To play volleyball you need to be healthy and in shape. One health related component you need is cardiovascular endurance. Cardiovascular exercise deals with the blood flow that can go through your heart. Another one you need is aerobic endurance. You need this because it helps the air capacity that can go through your lungs. The next health component you need is flexibility because it prevents you from pulling a muscle and getting seriously injured. The last component you need is muscular endurance. You need this because it allows you to hit the ball hard for a long period of time. Some skills are very essential in volleyball. Theses skills are the jump, underhand serve, the overhand serve, the dig, the set, the block, the spike, and teamwork. You need to know how to underhand serve because it is the easiest and safest way to get the ball over the net. You need a jump serve because it gets the ball over the net quickly and it is difficult to stop. Another serve that is essential to the game of volleyball is the overhand serve. This pass is effective because it goes over the net hard and it is tricky to hit. One kind of hit is a dig. A dig is useful when a player spikes the ball over the net at you and you let the ball hit off your forearms. Then the ball goes high into the air and someone volleys it over the net. The next type of hit is the set. This hit helps to setup the spike. This hit is usually played when the ball approaches from above the head. Another type of it hit is the spike. A spike is when you hit the ball over the net in a strong downward motion. Another skill that you need to play volleyball successfully is the block. The block is greatly needed because it blocks the opponents volley over the net. The last skill needed to play volleyball is teamwork. Teamwork is greatly needed because volleyball is a team game and the only way you can win is when you play successfully with your teammates. |
