Above is a picture of the team in Nagano, Japan after defeating Canada 3-1 in the Gold medal round of the Olympics.  Since then, they have a recorded 4 silvers medals, 3 in the World Championship and 1 at the 2002 Olympics, each time losing to Canada.
The head coach of the women's team is Ben Smith.  He has been coaching the team since 1996.  He has received many awards for coaching the team.
Karyn Bye was the assistant captain for the Olympic team.  She is now retired. Cammi Granato was the captain for the Olympic team.
The rest of the team in 2002 includes 2 goalies Sarah DeCosta and Sarah Tueting, both are now retired , 14 forwards, and 9 defensemen.
