The national USA women's hockey team has been around since 1990. Women's hockey has been in the Olympics since 1998. The USA team has won the gold in Nagano, Japan in 1998, and they won silver in 2002 at Salt Lake City, Utah. Since 1990 when women's hockey first came about nationally and around the world the team has received 7 silver medals at the World Championship.
