50 Cent born Curtis Jackson has dealt with alot more than most of us ever will in our whole lives.
He was raised without  a father and he lost his mother when she was found dead to "mysterious cirumstances" before he was a teenager. He was orphaned  and taken in by his grandparents.
After 50's son was born he entered the rap game with the intent to win. He signed with JMJ, the label of Run DMC DJ, Jam Master Jay, and began crafting his skills.

After 50 Cent was noticed and signed Columbia Records in 1999. 50 Cent was sent to upstate New York and they stuck him in a studio and in just two weeks he came out with 36 songs.
In April of 2000, 50 Cent was shot 9 times including a 9 millimeter bullet to the face. He spent the next few weeks recovering and Columbia Records promptly dropped him from the label.
He came back but only underground selling cd's on the black market. Once the major record companys got wind of his song they all wanted to sign him. While Jive Records and Universal and J were fighting over him, Eminem signed him to his Shady/Aftermath label for reportedly over a million dollars.
He quickly released his hit "Wanksta" which found a home on Eminem's multi-platinum 8 Mile soundtrack. 50 Cent has big footprints to follow but he has a number of hits under his belt. And he just released his new cd Get Rich Or Die Trying.
