The history of skateboarding? Well skateboarding was invented in 1910 by two skaters by the names of Tony Alva and Jay Adams.. Theses two men skated on The zepher team. This sport has been around a long time. And is still growing through out the world. In 1978 Alan Gelfand invented the ollie .Skateboarding in empty in ground pools was a big thing in the 70's. Tony hawk was the king of the half pipe witch was invented in 1984, and Rodney Mullen was the king of street and flatland. Skateboarding began to fad away as bmx became big and took skateboarding place in the 80's. But in the 90's in started to even out . People on the beach where biking and skating. A lot of skate parks got shut down because biking became so popular in the 80's.
