really good friends and spent all of their lunchtimes in the colleges art
department playing Beatles and Stones riffs. Gimour played in a lot of
bands and had a variety of jobs including a fashion model and a van driver. |

he was invited by Syd Barrett to the Sound Techniques Studio in Chelsea,
to see Pink Floyd record their single, "See Emily Play". during
this time Syd Barrett`s health was deteriorating due to excess drug
experimentation. After Pink Floyd`s first album, Piper at The Gates Of
Dawn, Gilmour was approached by Floyd drummer, Nick Mason to replace
Barrett. hence a second album, A Suacerful of Secrets, featured both
Gilmour and Barrett. |

write lyrics and some beautiful guitar work including his song, The Narrow
wt Parts 1-3. The soon came out with, Dark Side of The Moon, which was the
biggest success og Gilmour`s career. Gilmour`s highlights were his solos
in, Money and Time. The next album , Wish You Where Here, |
| , also contained some great guitar work from Gilmour especially in ,
Shine On You Crazy Diamond. This was written for his old college friend
and former band owner. Syd ironically showed up as they were recording it.
Gilmour has never seen him since. In 1977 They recorded, Animals, which
again had awesome guitar work shown from Gilmour. The Wall, soon followed
in 1979. During this time tension grew in the band, and Rick Wright left

to fight it out. Gilmour finally won the right to the Pink Floyd name
after Waters had left the band. This led to their first album as a trio, A
